A.) I think this was a different because he did it in a more simple, less forceful way. While other rulers, preferred to make small, more orderly steps, he wanted to do it in the way that Buddha did it, by making people see that it helps to be selfless. I think the reason that he had this idea is because he was inspired by the man Distrios. I think he saw that the man lived such a simple life, he was greatly surprised and liked the fact that the man asked for so little. I think he was more successful in conquering land than in having the dream of a simple life. He did, however learn to be selfless and did encourage others to do so, too.
B.) I think he could have been better prepared if he didn’t do so much fighting. He fought so much, that when the decease came along, his body wasn’t strong enough to fight against it. He probably would have been able to fight it, and win against it ha hadn’t fought so much. After the incident with the arrow I think he wouldn’t have been able to go to another war afterwards, anyway. However, he managed to fight hard and live a good life, no matter how short it was.
C.) I think our libraries are better because of the design that the Greek had and what we took into them. The Greeks had a good idea and their designs are beautiful and well planned. I think we are creating similar systems today by having the same kind of architecture. We don’t have the same kind of traditional design, like painting on the walls and big murals. We did keep the same kind of quiet, calming air of our libraries and I think that’s very important.
